THE DESTINATION
FOR ARCHITECTURAL
INNOVATION
A short history of how a hardware counter became a curated material atelier — and why that matters for your next project.
— Our Story · In Four Chapters
01.
The Beginning
Universal Hardware & Plywood began as a corner store for hinges and hardware—the kind of shop where site engineers came for what they couldn't find elsewhere. Over time, contractors returned, then designers, then architects.
02.
The Turn
We noticed a pattern. Every high-end project needed six suppliers on speed dial—plywood here, laminates there, waterproofing across town, and hardware from a distributor two hours out. So we changed the shop.
03.
The Curation
Today, we don't stock everything. We stock the right thing. Godrej for security. Amulya Mica and Advance for laminates. Euro Pratik for cladding. Avico for acrylics. Century and Greenply for substrates. Nothing enters our floor without vetting.
04.
The Studio Today
A curated material atelier for architects, contractors, and homeowners. One partner, one delivery, one considered library—from moisture membrane to biometric safe.
— Quality Doctrine
"We only stock what
we'd install in our
own homes."
— The universal doctrine, since day one.
